Luxury Living on the Glamourous Riviera

The French Riviera is an attractive holiday destination that offers year-round appeal. There is a growing demand for luxury properties along its 115-kilometre coastline. With over 300 days of sunshine every year and 12 hours of daylight during the summer months, tourists can expect a sun-drenched and glamorous vacation experience.

From royalty to celebrity to old-wealth and oligarchs, the French Riviera is a timeless destination that has always been and probably always will be the place to be seen. While celebrities flock to the Riviera, particularly during the film festival in Cannes, the sensational beauty, total tranquillity and ebullient glitz that the Côte d’Azur has to offer can be enjoyed by all. Here you can relax among olive trees during the day in a luxury villa, yet be ten minutes from a Michelin-starred restaurant, lunch at Club 55 or a night out at Jimmyz.

While many of the old favourite locations for prestige property remain the key focus for investment, France is seeing a new wave of businessman buying luxury properties on the Riviera. While Europeans and those from the Middle East are still also prominent buyers on the Côte d’Azur, a new Chinese market is emerging, some looking for flagship vineyards and others for luxury property investment opportunities.

The French Riviera has always been one of the most popular places to invest in luxury property as it has a diverse range of prestigious properties and locations to suit all tastes. Whether a penthouse in Nice, a prestige property among the heavenly flower aromas of Le Rouret (grown locally for the famous perfume distilleries in Grasse), or a luxury home in the ancient village of Eze, the  Riviera has options to satisfy all luxury property needs.

Some of the most popular areas for buyers include Villefranche sur Mer and Cap d’Antibes, where Abramovich is refurbishing the unique and historic Château La Croë. Other locations that provide good investment opportunities include Mandelieu, which offers a thriving business district as well as a large harbour, the stunning medieval village of Valbonne and Antibes, where you will find luxury boutiques and high class night life.

The French Riviera is easily accessible by land, sea or air. Nice airport provides international access to the French Rivieria and is just 30 minutes from Cannes – private car and luxury vehicle hire is available in abundance in this corner of France. For those wishing to travel more exclusively, there are plenty of private jet terminals in Cannes, Saint-Tropez and Nice. If rail transport is preferred, then the TGV operates direct trains from Paris. Moorings for yachts and superyachts are available all over the Riviera, but advance reservations are recommended as harbours get very busy during the high season.
