Estimate the Value of your French Property Online

Posted on

Here at My-French-House, we often receive requests from property owners in France asking if we provide a valuation service or can recommend an estate agent in the area to come around and “have a look”, some because they are planning to sell, others, out of curiosity.

Are you considering selling your property, buying a home in France, acquiring land, or curious about the value of real estate in a particular area? You can now conveniently request an estimate for property or land value online.

This free land value request service is accessible to everyone and acts as a “land value explorer” tool. It allows users to monitor the trends and changes in real estate prices specific to their location, helping them estimate the worth of their property. This valuable data is refreshed twice a year in April and October, ensuring you have the most current information at your fingertips.

You can access a database that contains information from the past five years for:

  • the price and sale date of an existing property (apartment or house) or unbuilt property (land and farm):
  • the property description: type, number of rooms, and surface area;
  • the average sale price per square meter by region and city.

There are several ways to check the value of a property:

  • Using the search bar: enter an address (top right) and refine if needed by filtering by property type (apartment, house, commercial space)
  • With the interactive map: click on a department, then on a municipality, and then on a cadastral section. Recent sales are displayed in blue, and you can also obtain a detailed list of recent sales.
  • Or using a table: select a department from the dropdown menu, and the list of transactions (sales, purchases…) will be provided.

Here’s the link to access the property and land value service. However note that the service is not currently available for the departments of Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin and Moselle in Northen France.

If you are considering selling your property in France or looking for a home in a specific area, get in touch; we may be able to assist, depending on the property type and the area. Have you tried our interactive drawmap yet?
